Ready for the Weekend!

I love long weekends! I worked longer hours this week so I can be off on Friday. My daughter is on spring break and I wanted to spend some time with her. We are planning a day of fun! I’m not so sure what we will do but shopping will probably be in the agenda. It was a very long week at work so I’m very glad my weekend starts NOW! Here’s some cute pics of me and my girl.

I am a little disappointed in myself this week though. My goal for the week was to exercise more. It didn’t happen. I attempted to get up early one morning and exercise before work, but I slept through the alarm. By the time I get home from work, I am so tired that I can’t begin of thinking about working out. Its very frustrating for me. I know I need to work out, I want to work out, but my job is very demanding and during the week it is near impossible. I did attempt to move more today and I wore my pedometer just for that reason. But I noticed after a few hours that I didn’t turn it on. So that was useless. At least I have a long weekend to get in a few workouts. I guess if I can’t do it during the workweek, I can still do it on weekends.

How do you fit in exercise to your busy schedule?

Date night

My hubby and I decided to go out for dinner as an early Valentines Day celebration last night. We went to one of my favorite places in out town, Marinas on the Square. Great Italian food and lovely atmosphere. I started with a glass of Merlot and a garden salad with balsamic vinagrette dressing. My entree was chicken marsala – one of my favorites! It was a wonderful dinner and I enjoyed the time with my special man.

Now, it’s Saturday and I have a busy day ahead. It’s a shopping day with my daughters followed by my monthly massage at Massage Envy. I look forward to this every month. It’s the little something special I do for ME! and I love hanging out with my beautiful daughters.

I’m looking forward to the warmer weather we should be having. The snow is almost gone, for good I hope!

I love running outside!

1 mile :16.49

I decided to run outside today since the weather has been so nice this weekend! It was great. I’m still alternating running/walking. It sure is taking me a long time to improve my pace. I found that I enjoy running outside much more than the boring treadmill. I jogged around a favorite spot of mine that has a trail around a pond usually filled with ducks. However, today I noticed that half of the pond was very unattractive due to construction in the area. After I reached the loop around the pond, I found the other end looked much better. I felt sorry for the poor ducks. It used to be such a lovely area with a fountain to enjoy the scenery. This is what Gateway Island used to look like.

Its been a busy weekend since I have been trying to catch up on work due to my being sick last week. I have worked a few hours here and a few hours there and feel much better about my workload. I also found the time to spend with my youngest daughter yesterday for a short shopping trip and attending a church service. It was a fun mommy/daughter afternoon!

Whitney

I began attending church again, especially since it was one of my goals for the New Year. I’m glad that I made this decision.

It’s amazing how being involved in a church can inspire me. Look at the video below from the praise team at my church, WOC.

I’m very pleased that I found Zumba fitness for PS3 on our shopping trip. Can’t wait to try it! I also got it at a discounted price. Love that!

Now, that it’s almost the end of January, are you sticking to your resolutions?

Fun with my girls

I took my daughters out for a shopping day. We began with breakfast from IHOP. I opted for one of the healthy breakfast choices even though I am sure something else would have tasted better. It wasn’t bad for around 400 calories. As you see from the picture below, Jan’a did not choose a healthy breakfast!

After breakfast, we headed to the mall for shopping. I managed to get a few Christmas gifts, in addition to some things for my kids. Whitney needed a new coat and I think she loves it!

We had fun in the mall. We even had our pictures made in one of those booths!

I was exhausted after all the shopping we did. So when I got home I decided to relax a little while before hitting the exercise room! It’s been a good day! I love spending time with my girls!
