Week 2 Workout 2 – Complete

It’s been a wonderful Wednesday! I found a way to enjoy my morning oatmeal even more…I added a banana and some organic peanut butter. It was very tasty! What are your favorite healthy breakfast foods? I feel like I’m eating the same things over and over. I need a change!

I completed Week 2 Workout 2 on the Couch to 5k training plan. I’m glad I was able to finish it. It seems harder this week to me. I’m not sure what my problem is. I know living in the south makes it hard to do outdoor runs, especially when the humidity starts. It’s 80 but feels like 95 degrees. Even in my exercise room with fans and the a/c, I can’t seem to get comfortable. Hmmm…hot flashes?

I am glad that I have been able to do these workouts during the work week after a long day of number crunching. A few weeks ago I was struggling to find time to workout and now I’m actually doing it. That feels great! And I have a 5k I’m participating in this weekend. I will try to run as much as I can and hopefully increase my pace.

How do you deal with the heat if you are a runner?

Welcome to Gina’s pancake kitchen!

It’s a beautiful Saturday morning. The sun is shining and it looks like it will be a beautiful day. My daughter, Whitney has been wanting pancakes all week so I decided to get up and make pancakes for the family.

Tiger is enjoying the sunshine. This is one of his favorite places.

I made a batch of regular pancakes for everyone else and added a few more things for my pancake. Since my family isn’t into the healthy eating thing like I am, sometimes I have to prepare my food separately. I added frozen blueberries and flaxseed to the batter. It turned out great!

To go along with the pancakes, I made scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage.

And of course, COFFEE!

Tiger seems a little anxious for breakfast to get finished….

Now that breakfast is done, I’m going to see what I can do today to enjoy the sunshine. It has been rainy and chilly here all week. I welcome the sunshine and hope it decides to stay. I hope to add some walking or jogging to my day, as well.

Enjoy your weekend!!

Buenos dias

It’s Saturday morning and I am up early making breakfast for my family and espresso for myself. I love making an iced espresso with Silk light. It is very yummy!

The last few weekends, my kitchen has been closed so I decided to make a nice breakfast. Not literally closed, but I just haven’t chosen to cook. It is supposed to rain/storm most of the day so I think we will stay home. I’m trying to gear up for a workout. I haven’t been on the treadmill in a while, so I think I’ll give it a try. With all this exercise equipment, I have no excuse.

I have some things weighing on my mind today. Last night my oldest daughter called me with some shocking news. I should have known it was big when she asked if I were sitting down. 🙂 She informed me that she is pregnant. She is unmarried, 20 years old and just moved into her first apartment. She has a part time job and makes just barely enough to take care of her living expenses. So I am a little worried. I am also a little stressed out thinking about being a grandma! I’m too young for that, right? Here are some baby pictures of my babies….

John and I are a little unsure about this grandparent thing…maybe the way we look in this picture says it all!

Have a great weekend!
